Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“Customer”) and KGZ Moving & Storage LLC (“KGZ Movers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Virginia-based interstate and intrastate moving company (USDOT: 3118175, MC: 806454). By requesting services, signing a Bill of Lading, or submitting a quote request, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
KGZ Movers provides residential and commercial moving, packing, loading/unloading, long-distance transport, and storage services in Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland. Specific services and pricing are confirmed in writing via a binding estimate or Bill of Lading before your move begins.
2. Quotes & Estimates
All quotes provided online, by phone, or by email are non-binding estimates based on information you supply. Final pricing is determined by the actual weight, volume, distance, and services rendered, as confirmed in the Bill of Lading signed on the day of the move.
For interstate moves, we offer both binding and non-binding estimates in accordance with FMCSA regulations (49 CFR Part 375). You will receive your estimate in writing before the move date.
3. Booking, Confirmation & Communications
A move date is considered confirmed only after you receive a written confirmation from KGZ Movers. Submitting a quote request online does not constitute a booking. We reserve the right to decline service at our discretion.
If you provide your mobile number, you agree that we may contact you by call or SMS regarding your quote request, booking, scheduling, and service updates.

- Reply STOP to opt out of SMS at any time; reply HELP for help.
- Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchase.
We do not share mobile numbers or SMS consent data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Marketing/promotional SMS (if offered) requires prior express written consent.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
- 72+ hours notice: No cancellation fee. Full deposit refund if applicable.
- 24–72 hours notice: 50% of the deposit is forfeited.
- Less than 24 hours / same-day: Full deposit is forfeited. Additional charges may apply if the crew has been dispatched.
- Rescheduling: Subject to availability; no fee if rescheduled 72+ hours before the move.
5. Liability for Loss or Damage
Federal law requires us to offer you two valuation options:
Released Value Protection (Free)
The default option at no charge. Liability is limited to $0.60 per pound per item. For example, a 50 lb television would be covered for a maximum of $30, regardless of its actual value.
Full Value Protection (Fee applies)
We are liable for the full replacement value of lost or damaged items. The cost of this coverage is based on the declared value of your shipment and will be stated in writing before the move.
You must select your valuation option in writing on the Bill of Lading before the move begins. We are not liable for damage to items you pack yourself, items not listed on the inventory, or pre-existing damage.

7. Payment Terms
- Payment is due in full upon completion of the move unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept cash, major credit/debit cards, and bank transfer.
- For interstate moves, we may not collect more than 110% of a non-binding estimate at delivery (FMCSA rule). Any amount above that threshold is due within 30 days.
- Overdue invoices are subject to a 1.5% monthly interest charge and may be referred to a collections agency.
8. Claims for Loss or Damage
Any claim for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 9 months of the delivery date (federal requirement for interstate moves; 60 days for local moves). Claims submitted after this period will not be honored.
To file a claim, email info@kgzmovers.com with your booking reference, a description of the damage, and supporting photos. We will acknowledge your claim within 30 days and resolve it within 120 days.
9. Customer Responsibilities
- Ensure parking and elevator access is available at both origin and destination
- Disclose all items requiring special handling before the move date
- Ensure a responsible adult (18+) is present at both pickup and delivery
- Obtain any required permits for parking trucks in restricted areas — fees are your responsibility
- Ensure all items are accessible and ready for loading at the agreed start time
10. Storage Services
If storage services are requested, a separate storage agreement will be provided. Storage fees are billed monthly. Items in storage that are not claimed after 60 days of non-payment may be subject to lien under Virginia Code § 55.1-2900 et seq.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KGZ Movers' total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific move giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of income or emotional distress.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute arising from our services that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Fairfax County, Virginia, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
13. FMCSA Rights & Responsibilities
As a federally licensed interstate mover, we are required to provide you with the FMCSA publication “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move” before an interstate move. You can download it at fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move. You may also file a complaint with the FMCSA at 1-888-368-7238.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
